Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Complex Medicine at our Tampa campus. The role provides direct and supportive patient care under licensed nursing supervision in a high-acuity setting, aligning with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, and safety, supporting nurses with delegated tasks, documenting care, and maintaining infection prevention and environmental cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by Florida DOH.
• Active enrollment in an ASN or BSN program and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, safety, and comfort.
• Assist licensed nursing staff with delegated patient care activities per clinical protocols and report changes promptly.
• Observe patient condition and promptly report changes or concerns to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient care activities.
• Support patient safety, infection prevention, and environmental cleanliness standards.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow escalation procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Certified Nursing Assistant license from FL DOH

Active enrollment in ASN/BSN program

Fundamentals of Nursing completed
