Job summary

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, and safety, supporting nurses with delegated tasks, documenting care, and maintaining infection prevention and environmental cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by Florida DOH.
• Active enrollment in an ASN or BSN program and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, safety, and comfort.
• Assist licensed nursing staff with delegated patient care activities per clinical protocols and report changes promptly.
• Observe patient condition and promptly report changes or concerns to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient care activities.
• Support patient safety, infection prevention, and environmental cleanliness standards.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow escalation procedures.

Education

Patient Care Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role supports the delivery of safe, timely, and patient-centered care by assisting with basic clinical and supportive care needs in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. The Patient Care Technician practices in alignment with organizational values, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
