Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care under RN supervision. You will support daily living activities, monitor patient comfort, and help maintain a safe, clean care environment.

Requires HS diploma or GED and a current BLS certification; prior hospital experience is a plus. This is an on-site role in a dynamic hospital setting with a focus on teamwork and patient well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering patient care under RN supervision.
• Record patient information including vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
• Assist with activities of daily living: meals, bathing, grooming, and elimination.
• Support patient mobility including positioning, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
• Collect specimens as directed and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.
• Follow hospital policies and State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
