Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct and indirect patient care under licensed nursing supervision in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and a Certified Nursing Assistant license from FL DOH. Nursing Students enrolled in ASN/BSN programs may apply. Schedule is Full-time, Day shift (7am–7pm) on-site at the TGH Main Campus.

Qualifications

• Provide direct patient care including activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, safety and comfort.
• Assist Licensed Nursing Staff with delegated care per clinical protocols.
• Observe patient condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
• Support patient safety, infection prevention and environmental cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and follow escalation procedures.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time in a high-acuity clinical environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Document care provided and patient responses.
• Adhere to organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
