Job summary

St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN, and help maintain a safe, clean environment in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Candidates should hold CNA certification, HS diploma, and BLS by 30 days after hire; phlebotomy and EKG certifications are a plus. Prior hospital or clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment on the unit.
