Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Patient Care Assistant for St Mary’s Hospital, Kankakee, IL. The role provides bedside support, assists with daily living activities, and helps maintain a safe patient environment under RN supervision at night in a part-time capacity.

The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy and EKG certs (preferred), BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior experience in acute care settings or clinics. CNA certification is preferred where required.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
