Job summary

St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant for nights in the Emergency Services department. You will support patients with activities of daily living and assist in basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge.

We require a CNA certification or higher where applicable, BLS, and familiarity with medical terminology. Previous acute care experience is preferred. The position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care under RN supervision and maintain a safe environment.
