Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care at our Orange County campuses. You will take vital signs, assist with hygiene and elimination, and help maintain a clean, safe unit environment while supporting clerical tasks as needed.

Successful candidates will have basic medical terminology knowledge, English proficiency, and a current BLS certification; willingness to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be Certified Nurses Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA).

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and assist with hygiene.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Assist with stocking unit supplies and operating hospital equipment.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other related duties as assigned.
