Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Acute Care Outpatient Coding Lead, you will serve as the daily contact for coding, DRG/code validation, and operational questions from coding staff, HSC staff, and shared service centers. You will support coding leadership by coordinating coding and educational activities within the HSC, ensuring accurate and complete coding for proper reimbursement and data integrity.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and performing quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding.
• Providing feedback and education on coding opportunities.
• Ensuring timely rebill requests and account reviews.
• Assisting with day-to-day coding operations and process improvements.
• Coordinating staff training and reporting on team performance.
• Supporting staff productivity verification and process audits.

Qualifications:

• Management and supervisory experience in healthcare.
• At least 5 years of outpatient coding experience.
• At least 3 years of coding auditing experience.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification (or in progress).
• Associate’s degree or higher in HIM/HIT preferred.
