Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks an Administrative/Clinical Support RN to facilitate patient care using the nursing process and to assist in monitoring quality care through efficient use of resources. Education: RN diploma is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Work experience: at least 3 years in acute care; CCU/charge nurse experience preferred. Certifications: current RN license; BLS required; ACLS/CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and be proficient with Windows applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly to patients and colleagues.
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to move throughout the department, hospital, and between off-campus sites.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communication forward to appropriate level.
• Supervises and leads staff effectively.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area.
• Adapts communication and care to the patient population and setting.
• Performs other related duties as required.
