Job summary

Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida, is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) to lead shift operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, customer experience, and efficient flow. The CANM collaborates with Nursing Operations Managers to guide staffing, patient care assignments, and unit performance.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or NLC), BLS certification, and typically a BSN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages staffing assignments for oncoming and off going shifts based on patient acuity and skill set to meet care needs.
• Coordinates patient flow with Administrative Supervisors and Care Coordinators to achieve outcomes.
• Coordinates and/or participates in the delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with orders and standards.
• Serves as a resource supporting frontline team members and providers.
• Leads safety huddles and promotes change and problem solving.
• Assesses equipment needs to ensure staff have necessary tools for patient care.

Education
