Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (PRN) to provide comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires California? (note: adjust to Texas) required Texas RN/NP licensure, ACLS/BLS, and Magnet ANCC acute care certification.

Collaboration with physicians and interprofessional teams is essential. The NP will perform assessments, order tests, educate patients, and participate in rounding and care planning while adhering to Texas Nurse

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioners program.
• Two years of RN, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
• RN licensure in Texas or equivalent compact licensure and permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing residency).
• APRN Acute Care state license.
• Magnet ANCC-recognized Acute-Care practitioner certification.
• BLS (American Heart Association).
• ACLS (American Heart Association).
• AP Prescriptive Authority - Texas.
• DEA - Narcotics License (DEA).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership as a clinical resource and patient advocate.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to manage/coordinate patient care.
• Communicates information respectfully with staff and promotes teamwork.
• Coordinates patient care under physician supervision and ensures high-quality outcomes.
