Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Nurse Practitioner AC for PRN status to provide comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Texas. The NP will diagnose, treat, order tests, educate patients, and collaborate with an interprofessional care team under the Nurse Practice Act of Texas.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Nursing with NP program, and at least two years of RN/APN experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing and graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of RN, advanced practice or nurse practitioner clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and consultation.
• Order tests and educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Collaborate with an interprofessional care team and communicate with patients, physicians and staff.
• Promote compassionate communication and patient safety under the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
