Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore, MD seeks a Physician Assistant or Adult Nurse Practitioner for acute care in surgical inpatient services. Under general supervision, you will evaluate and treat admitted patients, write orders, and coordinate care with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Physician Assistant Program OR Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the Maryland Board.
• CPR and ACLS certifications as required.
• One year acute care experience preferred.
• Analytical skills to assess patients and implement interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for initial evaluation and treatment of admitted surgical patients.
• Performs admission history and physical with documentation.
• Writes orders within delegation agreements and discusses findings with team.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans with attending physician.
• Makes daily rounds and documents progress and plan.
