Palomacares in McKinney seeks an acute care nurse practitioner to join the neuro hospitalist team on a 7-on/7-off rotation. You will manage stroke and neurological patients in acute and critical care, perform Neuro exams, and respond to code stroke activations while coordinating with neurology, neurosurgery and hospital medicine teams.

Required: Texas RN license and ACNP certification, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years inpatient NP experience.

Job description

We are an inpatient neurology and stroke group in McKinney hiring an acute care nurse practitioner for our neuro hospitalist team on a 7-on / 7-off rotation. You will manage neurological and stroke patients in acute and critical care units, perform and document detailed neuro exams, respond to code stroke activations, and coordinate with neurology, neurosurgery and hospitalist colleagues, while teaching patients and families about their care plans. Required: current Texas RN license and ACNP certification; BLS and ACLS; at least 2 years of inpatient or hospital-based nurse practitioner experience.

Preferred: neurology or neuro-ICU experience; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) or ENLS certification; comfort with EEG interpretation and neurological procedures.

Schedule: Full-time, 7 days on / 7 days off. Pay: $57–$74 an hour, depending on experience.
