Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut, required.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs an age specific plan of care using the nursing process.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team members to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Demonstrates leadership in coordinating patient care and directing the unit team.
• Assesses physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Assesses psychosocial health, outcomes, and education needs.
• Formulates and implements the plan of care with priority setting.
• Administers medications correctly and safely and documents care.
• Participates in discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and documents outcomes.
• Provides patient and family education throughout the care process.
• Performs related duties as required.
