Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville is seeking a PRN Acute Care COTA to join our team. The COTA will assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and maintain patient records, while collaborating with physicians, nurses and other health professionals to meet treatment goals.

The role emphasizes participation in quality improvement, high-quality customer service, and care across neonatal to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA therapy program is required.
• (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or (OTA) license through the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care per the licensed OT plan.
• Maintain accurate patient records and progress notes.
• Communicate with physicians, therapists, nurses and other hospital staff.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient service excellence.

Job Summary and Qualifications

TheCertified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)assists in the delivery of patient care as established by the licensed Occupational Therapist to reach treatment goals through a written treatment plan. The COTA will be responsible for maintaining patient records. The COTA maintains good communication with physicians, licensed therapists, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, discharge planners, and hospital personnel. The COTA participates in continuous quality improvement and strives to excel in customer service. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The COTA actively participates in occupational therapy activities and inservices training.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA therapy program is required as a minimum
• (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or (OTA) Occupational Therapy Assistant through the state of Floria
