Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Cardiac/Stroke/Stepdown unit. This on-site, part-time role supports patient care, vital signs, mobility, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required and one of the listed certifications or training options.
• Certification options include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School or related EMR/EMS training.
• Current student in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Observe and document patient condition and report to staff.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, and specimen collection.
• Assist with EKG testing and peripheral IV removal.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and removal.
• Adhere to patient safety practices and policies.
