Job summary

The Hartford offers an 11-week actuarial internship program based in Hartford, CT. This full-time, in-person opportunity develops actuarial skills through hands-on projects across Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits teams.

Interns receive training in R coding and insurance concepts, with travel and housing support provided. Strong analytical and communication abilities, plus progress toward actuarial exams, are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, math, economics, finance or related fields.
• Candidates must have passed at least one actuarial exam.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support actuarial analyses across departments (pricing, reserving, data science, ERM, employee benefits).
• Collaborate with actuaries on challenging projects and learning opportunities.
• Participate in training in R coding and actuarial terminology used by the department.
