Job summary

Empower's Summer Internship Program in Hartford offers a hands-on 10-week experience in corporate actuarial. You will work on real business initiatives, paired with mentors and an executive sponsor, and present your project to leaders at the end of the internship.

You will gain experience in actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and strategic analysis, with exposure to cross-functional teams and opportunities for professional development and networking.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college or university (Bachelor’s or Master’s program).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
• Available for full 10-week program (June 2 – August 6, 2027).
• Must reside near or be able to reliably commute to Hartford, CT. This is an in-person internship.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship (CPT/OPT not supported).

Responsibilities

• Support actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and strategic analysis.
• Contribute to actuarial model enhancements and internal reporting tools.
• Assist with data validation, assumption setting, and trend analysis.
• Work on valuation, forecasting, or regulatory deliverables.
