Selective Insurance offers the Ignite Internship program at our corporate office in Short Hills, NJ, a full-time 11-week summer experience designed to introduce undergraduates to the insurance industry.

As an Actuarial-focused intern, you'll work with seasoned actuaries on pricing analyses, data prep, and reports, gaining hands-on exposure to experience studies, reserves, and modeling tools in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree (Junior/Senior) or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
• Experience with programming languages or data tools is a plus (SQL, Python, R).
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform pricing and experience analyses.
• Prepare data and templates for quarterly loss and LAE reserve analyses.
• Prepare special reports, data compilations, analyses of company and industry experience.
• Implement improvements to current processes.
• Develop foundational knowledge of Actuarial Department functions.
