Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Principal Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to deliver technical data support and innovative financial data solutions for Actuarial systems and data marts. You will lead in requirements, develop complex trends and analyses for Plan divisions, and coordinate across vendor and internal teams.

The role includes leading data solutions, ensuring auditable granular financial data for audits, and providing analytical support for diverse projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 8+ years of experience in related fields; in lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of SQL Development/Analysis experience. Highly preferred
• 5+ years' experience with medical claims, Pharmacy/medical rebate data. Highly preferred
• Facets experience a plus.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex decision support data solutions, data extracts, reports, data marts, and/or analysis. Responsible for the entire development life cycle.
• Performs monthly data refreshes, validations, automations, and quality assurance checks to support executive financial reporting.
• Manages the Maintenance and optimization of the Actuarial Systems Data Marts.
• Lead in developing data solutions and/or analysis by providing input to the business requirements and functional specifications, reviewing technical specs, and participating in user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate work and provide direction, assistance and training to peers and junior staff members.
• Provide technical leadership and data expertise to business project teams and non-project related activities.
