Job summary

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. invites motivated students to join our Actuarial Data internship for a 12-week summer program. You will tackle meaningful work and receive support from actuaries as you continue your exam path.

As an intern, you will provide support to actuarial teams, help standardize processes, and help develop data pipelines. You’ll gain exposure to senior management in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while learning to apply actuarial concepts to real-world

Qualifications

• Passed at least one actuarial exam is strongly preferred.
• Excel experience
• Interest in insurance industry
• Knowledge of actuarial exam process
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply technical concepts
• Ownership of tasks
• Works within deadlines with guidance
• Able to manage time and prioritize with guidance
• Adapts future behaviors based on prior mistakes
• Accepts and reacts positively to feedback

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the different Actuarial teams.
• Ensure that assigned tasks are completed within reasonable timeliness and with reasonable accuracy.
• Standardize ad hoc processes and drive continuous improvement for automating and optimizing performance of ongoing processes, including development of data processing pipelines.
• Use a variety of applications and technologies to answer simple and complex questions
• Other duties as Assigned

Experience:

• Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field
• Demonstrate sufficient progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles is required
• Studying for CAS preliminary exams; may have 1-2 passed
