Qualifications

Job description

As an Actuarial Intern, you'll gain hands‑on experience in the day-to-day operations of a financial services company. You'll collaborate with professionals in areas like Enterprise Risk Management, Product Management, or Corporate Actuarial Financial Reporting, contributing to real projects that impact the business.

  • Documentation: Verify factors used in computations, document processes, and help automate reports and spreadsheets.

  • Specialized Tasks: Depending on your area, you may develop rate filings, in-force files, and experience study results or assist in determining premiums, benefits, and pricing levels.

Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed:
Required:
  • Academic Background: Pursuing a major in actuarial science or a related financial/mathematical field.
  • SOA Exam: Completed at least one SOA exam.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Proactive and Independent: Ability to take initiative, work independently, meet deadlines, and interact professionally with colleagues.
Preferred:
  • Programming Skills: Experience with programming languages like VBA, Python, or R.
  • Relevant Experience: Prior work experience, including internships or co-ops, is a plus.
Internship Details:
  • Duration: A twelve-week program starting in May 2027
  • Compensation: Pay rate starts at $22 per hour
  • Schedule: Full-time (Monday -- Friday, 8:15 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.)
