Job summary

Sammons Financial Group Companies seeks a data analytics professional to support actuarial processes. You will build and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools, gather data, run analyses, and communicate findings to stakeholders across internal teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in data analytics, familiarity with Visual Basic/macros, and strong Excel/Access/Word skills, with emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or equivalent preferred.
• 2-3 years' work experience in data analytics; background in life insurance or annuities preferred.
• Demonstrate mathematical ability, strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Visual Basic and macros desirable. Demonstrate skill in Excel, Access, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop basic knowledge of insurance industry and Sammons Financial Group Companies products.
• Demonstrate ability to research and provide insights.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate ability to manage projects.
• Curiosity, problem solving, multi-tasking and adaptability.
• Self-motivated and able to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and analytical support for internal and external customers.
• Create, maintain, and use spreadsheets and/or database tools to calculate, analyze and report results for actuarial related processes.
• Conduct research and analysis to address calculation issues as needed.
• Support other special projects as assigned.
• Develop understanding of actuarial concepts and business processes and ensure tools reflect requirements.
• Maintain, enhance spreadsheet, software and/or database tools for data management and reporting.
• Gather and prepare data, generate reports, conduct analyses and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain calculation spreadsheets for validation of actuarial values.

Education
