Job summary

Sammons Financial Group Companies is seeking an analyst to provide technical and analytical support for actuarial processes. You will create and maintain spreadsheets and database tools to calculate, analyze, and report results for various actuarial tasks.

The role requires 2-3 years of data analytics experience, a math-oriented background, and proficiency with Excel, Access, and Word. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or equivalent preferred.
• 2-3 years' work experience in data analytics; background in life insurance or annuities preferred.
• Mathematical ability with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Visual Basic and macros desirable; demonstrate skill in Excel, Access, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop basic knowledge of insurance industry and Sammons Financial Group Companies products and actuarial concepts.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and analytical support for internal and external customers.
• Create, maintain, and use spreadsheets and/or database tools to calculate, analyze and report results for actuarial processes.
• Research and analyze information to address calculation issues.
• Support special projects as assigned.
• Develop understanding of actuarial concepts and business processes for tools built to support analytics.
