Sammons Financial Group in United States (Chicago area) seeks a data analytics professional to provide actuarial support, build and maintain spreadsheets, and create tools for reporting and calculations. You will analyze data, perform reasonableness checks, and present results to stakeholders.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–3 years of data analytics experience, preferably in life insurance or annuities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or equivalent preferred.
• 2-3 years' work experience in data analytics; background in life insurance or annuities preferred.
• Possess mathematical ability, strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Visual Basic and macros desirable. Demonstrate skill in Excel, Access, and Word.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to research and provide insights; work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of actuarial concepts and requirements; ensure tools reflect these in analytics and reporting.
• Maintain or enhance spreadsheets, software, and database tools to manage, analyze, and report data; document tools and processes.
• Gather and prepare data and review for reasonableness; generate reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Create and enhance calculation spreadsheets; perform detailed calculations to support actuarial, product, or policy teams.
• Participate in meetings and communicate technical actuarial information to teammates.
