Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Actuarial Consultant in Personal Lines Pricing with a focus on Homeowner's pricing. The role influences pricing strategy, supports catastrophe pricing, and shapes planning and forecasting across personal lines.

You will collaborate with actuarial, risk, and business teams to turn data into actionable pricing recommendations and drive profitable growth. Strong quantitative skills and ACAS progress are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related quantitative field.
• ACAS designation or progress towards FCAS.
• 5+ years actuarial experience in pricing or related field.
• Experience with homeowners, catastrophe pricing, or planning and forecasting.
• SQL exposure or willingness to learn; Python/R exposure beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support actuarial analyses informing weather loss and trend assumptions.
• Partner with Risk Management on catastrophe, reinsurance, and profit assumptions.
• Support methodology documentation and pricing improvements.
• Contribute to planning and forecasting activities and pricing opinions.
• Translate analyses into clear recommendations for pricing leadership.
