Job summary

Sammons Financial Group seeks an actuarial professional to perform technical actuarial tasks across modeling, data analytics, product development and financial reporting. You will provide guidance, analyze data, and help prepare materials in compliance with regulations.

The role may be filled at Associate 1 or 2 level based on skills, experience, and progression through our structured selection process. Excellent benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mathematics or related field.
• 3-5 years' Experience in Actuarial Science.
• Strong mathematical ability and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills including experience with applicable technical tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide insights.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Able to work in an office environment.
• Must have passed a minimum of three SOA exams.
• Pursuit of actuarial designation required.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of Sammons Financial Group products and customer value propositions.
• Understand insurance contracts, regulations, and policy features; apply cash-flow concepts to actuarial processes.
• Assist in building and validating simple financial models; document inputs and results.
• Support accounting and reporting for liabilities and assets backing those liabilities.
• Analyze data, summarize findings, and present insights clearly.
• Collaborate with departments to support projects and administration tasks.
• Contribute to SOA examination program as part of the study guidelines.
• Maintain regular attendance and align with company values and policies.
