Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking an actuarial associate to perform technical actuarial tasks, assist with modeling, data analytics, product development, and financial reporting for Sammons Financial Group’s products. You will provide technical guidance and collaborate with teams to support regulatory and business needs.

The role offers progression between Associate 1 and Associate 2 levels based on skills, experience, and alignment with the scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field is required.
• 3-5 years of actuarial experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical ability and attention to detail with analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills including experience using applicable technical tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide insights.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Highly organized with the ability to balance multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of Sammons Financial Group products and customer value propositions.
• Understand insurance contracts and actuarial regulations; assist with regulatory materials.
• Develop knowledge of actuarial assumptions and apply them; justify simple recommendations.
• Create and alter simple financial models and build tools for model accuracy.
• Analyze basic financial reporting and report on profit measures.
• Modify and use data analysis tools to summarize and present data.
