Job summary

Symetra is seeking an Actuarial Associate II to run the monthly fixed indexed annuity valuation model and contribute to analyses that drive business insights and improvements.

You will support product development, financial reporting, and experience studies while developing your expertise through actuarial exams and essential modeling work. The role offers flexible full-time or hybrid telecommuting options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics.
• 2 to 6 years of annuity related actuarial experience.
• 3 to 5 actuarial exams.
• Proven ability to adhere to due dates and strong sense of accountability.
• Has a basic understanding of annuity products.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Preferred experience with Python, SQL/Snowflake and or other actuarial modeling software.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with product development, financial reporting, management reporting, experience studies, and actuarial research.
• May prepare reports, maintain spreadsheets, databases, and other actuarial software.
• Commitment to self development, attaining industry knowledge, and passing actuarial exams to achieve actuarial designation.
