Symetra's Annuities Actuarial Financial Reporting team seeks a dynamic actuarial professional to join us. The role evolves with the team's needs and involves hands-on work on high-impact projects, including reserves setting and model enhancements.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, 6–9 years of annuity actuarial experience, ASA designation, and Python/SQL/Snowflake skills. We offer hybrid work, strong benefits, and opportunities to contribute across periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with strong quantitative background.
• 6-9 years of annuity actuarial experience; Principles Based Reserving and FAS133 experience preferred.
• ASA designation required.
• Python and SQL/Snowflake experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set STAT and GAAP reserves in accordance with latest regulation requirements.
• Maintain and enhance deferred annuities financial reporting models. Include month-end pipeline data generation, modeling, review, and journal entries.
• Collaborate with experience study team in developing and implementing actuarial assumptions.
• Support ad-hoc projects including building and improving actuarial analysis reports and data modernization projects.
