Symetra Financial Corporation is seeking an Actuary I for the remote US market to join the Annuities Actuarial Financial Reporting team. This role focuses on setting STAT and GAAP reserves and maintaining forecasting models while adapting to evolving priorities.

The candidate should have an ASA designation, a Bachelor's degree, and 6–9 years of annuity actuarial experience, with Python and SQL/Snowflake skills preferred. Excellent communication and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background.
• ASA designation required.
• 6-9 years of annuity actuarial experience.
• Experience with Python, SQL/Snowflake preferred.
• Principles Based Reserving and FAS133 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set STAT and GAAP reserves per latest regulations.
• Maintain and enhance deferred annuities financial reporting models; manage month-end pipeline.
• Collaborate with experience study team on actuarial assumptions.
• Support ad-hoc projects and actuarial data modernization efforts.
