American National is seeking an Actuarial Analyst III to join our Annuity Valuation team in League City, TX. You will support the valuation and financial reporting of deferred annuities, including VA, FDA, and FIA products, gaining hands-on experience across statutory and GAAP processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background.
• Two years of actuarial experience. Annuity valuation or modeling experience is a plus.
• Two or more actuarial exams passed.
• Strong programming background. Experience using R is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Excel and Access (Macros, PowerQuery, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform statutory valuation and reporting for Variable Annuity products, including running and enhancing the VA valuation model in R.
• Prepare reinsurance deliverables for ceded FDA and FIA business.
• Prepare statutory and GAAP reserve rollforwards and financial reporting analysis for all deferred annuity products.
• Apply actuarial principles and deepen understanding of annuity valuation concepts.
• Contribute to regulatory filings, audits, and other financial reporting initiatives.
• Progress toward SOA credentials through company-supported study program.
