Job summary

American National Insurance in League City, TX seeks an Actuarial Analyst III to support valuation and financial reporting of deferred annuities (VA, FDA, FIA). You will gain hands-on experience and may join our Actuarial Student Rotation Program to advance studies while building your career.

Responsibilities include VA valuation, reinsurance deliverables for FDA/FIA, GAAP rollforwards, and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field with strong mathematical background.
At least two years of actuarial experience; annuity valuation or modeling a plus.
Two or more actuarial exams passed.
Strong programming background; experience using R is a plus.
Proficient with MS Excel and Access (Macros, PowerQuery, etc.).

Responsibilities

Perform statutory valuation and reporting for Variable Annuity products in R.
Prepare reinsurance deliverables for ceded FDA and FIA business.
Prepare statutory and GAAP reserve rollforwards and financial reporting analysis.
Apply actuarial principles and deepen understanding of valuation concepts.
Contribute to regulatory filings, audits, and financial reporting initiatives.
Progress toward SOA credentials through company-supported study program.
