We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity/Recreation Assistant to join our team at RegalCare at Blackstone Valley in Northbridge, Massachusetts. As an integral member of our Activities Department, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic activities. Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily activity programs for residents, including recreational, social, and therapeutic activities
Encourage resident participation in individual and group activities, promoting a sense of community and socialization
Help coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and entertainment, ensuring a fun and engaging calendar of events
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment
Maintain activity supplies and assist with decorating for seasonal events, ensuring a welcoming and festive atmosphere
Document resident participation and communicate changes or concerns to the Activities Director, promoting effective communication and collaboration
Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, adhering to established protocols and guidelines
Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed, supporting their mobility and independence
Support the Activities Director with department projects and special events, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Activities Department and the overall needs of the facility, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience working with seniors, particularly in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, is preferred but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and team members
Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and dependable, with a passion for creating engaging experiences
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills
Must be able to assist residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities, demonstrating patience and empathy
Competitive pay: $16 - $20 HOURLY
