Job summary

RegalCare at Blackstone Valley in Northbridge, MA is seeking an Activity/Recreation Assistant to enhance residents' quality of life through engaging programs. You will plan, lead, and support daily activities, coordinate events, and foster a warm, inclusive community within the facility.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents and staff.
• Creative, enthusiastic, patient and dependable with activity planning.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with good time management.
• Able to assist residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily activity programs for residents, including recreational, social, and therapeutic activities.
• Encourage resident participation in individual and group activities, promoting a sense of community and socialization.
• Help coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and entertainment.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Maintain activity supplies and decorate for seasonal events.
• Document resident participation and communicate changes to the Activities Director.
• Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
• Support the Activities Director with department projects and special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Activities Department.
