Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to join the recreation team. You will help plan, organize, and direct recreational activities to support residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

The role offers a 1p-7p schedule with every other weekend and pays $16 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential.
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
