Starting at: $16.51 - $19.35/hr

Overview

An active social life is an essential aspect of life at Elderwood. Our activities leaders conduct enjoyable recreation programs that keep residents energized, engaged, and mentally stimulated.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Director of Activities in planning and executing the activity program.
  2. Approach residents on assigned units to plan individual recreational and social activities; report to the Director of Activities about resident response and cooperation.
  3. Prepare resident information for use in care planning and documentation; write progress notes as assigned.
  4. Develop and maintain good contact with community resources to enhance the activities program.
  5. Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
  6. Keep attendance records and prepare other reports as required.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age; HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting environment for residents, and adapt activities to meet their needs.
  • Understanding of residents' rights and needs.
  • Physical stamina for constant activity.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment and effective communication, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level.
