Job summary

Vivo Healthcare Wauchula is seeking an Activity Director to lead our recreational therapy team and design a comprehensive activity program that enhances residents' quality of life. You will coordinate with rehabilitation and nursing staff to tailor activities to diverse resident needs and abilities.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with preference for experience in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement recreational activities (arts/crafts, games, outings).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify resident needs and create programs.
• Monitor and evaluate activity effectiveness; adjust to ensure engagement and satisfaction.
• Recruit and train volunteers to assistant with activities.
• Develop and manage the activity budget.
• Maintain records of participation and program evaluations.
