Job summary

New Castle Nursing & Rehab in New Castle, Kentucky is seeking a compassionate and Creative Activity Director to lead our activities program and enhance residents' quality of life through engaging, meaningful experiences.

This Full Time role requires imagination, strong communication, and the ability to tailor daily activities to residents' interests and needs, while coordinating with nursing staff and families to create a supportive, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with older adults preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Creative, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable working with residents with a variety of physical and cognitive abilities.
• Most importantly, a genuine passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of daily activities meeting residents' needs.

We are looking for someone who understands that activities are a part of our residents' quality of life, independence, socialization, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of daily activities that meet the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents.
• Get to know residents individually and develop activities based on their interests, hobbies, abilities, and personal histories.
• Create a monthly activity calendar that includes a variety of group and individual activities.
• Organize special events, parties, entertainment, outings, and celebrations for residents and families.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual choices and preferences.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community members.
