Job summary

Asbury Towers Retirement Community in Indiana is seeking an energetic Activity Director to plan, schedule, and implement an ongoing program of activities for residents, tailored to their physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. The role fosters a home-like atmosphere and meaningful engagement aligned with each resident’s care plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State-approved training course completion and certification.
• Experience in a nursing facility is a plus.
• Warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
• Creative, energetic, and able to engage a room.
• Availability to work weekdays and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate an activity program according to established policies.
• Plan group and individual activities designed to restore self-care and well-being and geared to the individual’s needs and interests.
• Prepare facility activity calendar.
• Organize, schedule and supervise activities according to the interests expressed by residents.
• Establish and maintain community involvement and create a home-like atmosphere for residents.
• Transport or oversee the transportation of residents to outside activities.
• Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents’ activity preferences and needs.

About This Role

We are looking for an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activity Director to help bring joy, purpose, and connection to our residents every day. You will plan, schedule and implement an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. You will also ensure residents are engaged in a meaningful, varied program of activities or in groups, according to the residents Care Plan.
