We are looking for an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activity Director to help bring joy, purpose, and connection to our residents every day. You will plan, schedule and implement an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. You will also ensure residents are engaged in a meaningful, varied program of activities or in groups, according to the residents Care Plan. Plan, organize and coordinate an activity program according to established policies.
Plan group and individual activities designed to restore self-care and well-being and geared to the individual’s needs and interest.
Prepare facility activity calendar.
Organize, schedule and supervise activities according to the interests expressed by residents.
Establish and maintain community involvement and create a home-like atmosphere for residents.
Transport or oversee the transportation of residents to outside activities.
Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents’ activity preferences and needs.
High school diploma or GED required
Completed training course approved by state of employment and obtain certification.
Activities experience in a nursing facility a plus.
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality
Creative, energetic, and able to engage a room
Ability to work weekdays and rotating weekends
