Schedule- Full Time

New Castle Nursing & Rehab is seeking a compassionate and Creative Activity Director to lead our activities program and help create meaningful, enjoyable experiences for our residents. We are looking for someone who understands that activities are a part of our residents’ quality of life, independence, socialization, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of daily activities that meet the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents. Get to know residents individually and develop activities based on their interests, hobbies, abilities, and personal histories. Create a monthly activity calendar that includes a variety of group and individual activities. Organize special events, parties, entertainment, outings, and celebrations for residents and families. Encourage resident participation while respecting individual choices and preferences. Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community members. Incorporate meaningful one-on-one visits and activities for residents who may not participate in group programs. Work closely with nursing and other departments to ensure activities are appropriate for each resident’s needs. Bring creativity and new ideas to the facility while creating an environment where residents feel valued, included, and at home.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting, is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Creative, dependable, and able to work independently. Comfortable working with residents with a variety of physical and cognitive abilities. Most importantly, a genuine passion for working with seniors and making a difference in their everyday lives.
