Overview
We are currently seeking an Activity Coordinator at Options Behavioral Health. Options is a mental health and addiction treatment center for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Located in Indianapolis, IN, Options provides specialized care for each individual. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Complete activity assessments through patient observation and interviews, gathering information on needs, skills, interests, and limitations to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Plan, organize, direct, and implement activities within the treatment program to facilitate patient progress towards treatment goals.
- Design and implement an activities program including therapeutic leisure skills, leisure education, and leisure awareness.
- Facilitate and lead activity sessions to improve patients' mental and physical well-being.
- Instruct patients in activities and techniques such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques tailored to their needs.
- Develop and execute treatment plans with activity interventions aligned with patient needs and interests to achieve treatment goals.
- Plan and execute activity interventions promoting safe leisure use.
- Provide activities that foster social skills development and leisure independence.
- Modify activities to accommodate specific groups' needs.
- Supervise activity staff in implementing the therapy program, if applicable.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, addressing and resolving complaints, prioritizing patient safety.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy, or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- At least two years of recreation experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of the patient population served by the facility is required.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility policies.
