We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and people-focused Activity Assistant to support our Independent Living residents. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with residents who are independent, active, social, and full of life. Are you energetic and enthusiastic? This role is about more than filling a calendar – it’s about building connections, discovering interests, encouraging participation, and helping residents make the most of every day. From social gatherings and outings to fitness, games, hobbies, special events, and new experiences, you’ll help create opportunities for residents to stay engaged, connected, and involved in the community.
Under the supervision of the Activities Coordinator for the assigned area of the Village, assists in providing innovative services that meet the needs of residents through recreational, educational, spiritual and life skills program in a productive manner.
Experience - Experience working with the elderly in a long-term environment preferred; demonstrated creativity, with interest and skills in areas of music, arts and crafts and exercise is beneficial.
Education- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent; have special talents/skills/training to work with the elderly in an activity setting.
Special Skills - Interest in and understanding of working with the elderly; good judgment in conducting resident activity; good social interaction skills; cheerful and outgoing; ability to work with interruptions and sometimes stressful situations; ability to follow instructions and carry out projects independently when directed.
