Job summary

Meadow Falls Senior Living group seeks an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Coordinator in directing and evaluating activities for residents. You will help plan and perform scheduled activities and life-skills sessions while keeping inventories up to date and ensuring safety.

The role requires teamwork, a positive attitude, and the ability to assist residents during outings, with strong communication and a compassionate approach to elder care.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities assistance or planning is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Demonstrates respectful, compassionate approach with residents.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates high ethical standards and professionalism.
• Physical stamina to assist residents and transport as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Coordinator with directing, coordinating, and evaluating activities.
• Plan and perform regularly scheduled activities and life-skills sessions.
• Maintain inventory for activities and ensure safety in all tasks.
• Complete tasks maintaining resident safety and quality of life.
• Coordinate posting of activities and keep areas safe and neat.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

• Activity Assistant is responsible in assisting the Activity Coordinator with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the activities department.
• Assist with planning and perform regularly scheduled activities and/or life skills activities.
• Assist in maintaining an acceptable level of inventory to perform all activities.
• Completion of all tasks and functions maintaining a high level of resident safety.
• Coordinate the posting of all activities.
• Maintain all areas for activities within the community in a safe and neat manner.
• Accompany residents on outings as assigned by Activity Coordinator.
• May be responsible to Drive residents to appointments and outings using our community shuttle bus.
• May be required to assist residents getting on and off the bus, utilizing the appropriate and safest mode for assistance. This may include using a lift, ambulation and or physical transfer.
• Present professional appearance/dress.
• The Activity Assistant maintains a positive attitude which supports team performance and productivity.
