Job summary

Vista Senior Living Management's Eden Vista Beachwood is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan and participate in resident-centered activities. You will document participation and support daily living skills, with opportunities for one-to-one and small-group programs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Activity Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior care setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and emotional needs of our residents
• Create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day
• Help design programs to encourage socialization
• Provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment and improve daily living skills
• Prepare and maintain reports on resident’s progress
• Ensure activity areas are safe and well maintained
• Generate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participation

Position: Activity Assistant

Schedule: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional late days for events (w/ every other weekend and every other Holiday)

The Activity Assistant organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small-group facilitation, and large-group presentations. Capable of documenting individual participation and the value of approaches in the medical record.

Job functions will include:
