Job summary

Oak Park Place in Albert Lea, MN is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan and run recreational and social events that promote well-being and resident engagement.

You will work under the Activity Director to organize programs, lead arts, crafts, and games, and collaborate with all departments to meet residents’ needs. A positive attitude and prior eldercare or activity experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Experience with elderly preferred.
• Experience in an activity role preferred.

Activity Assistant

The Activity Assistant job responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and social events to enhance the well‑being of residents with a goal of promoting regular socialization and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of the Activity Director you will help organize, plan, and execute a well-balanced activity program
• Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and games
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation
• Work with all departments to ensure resident needs are being met
• Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly

Requirements

Activity Assistant Qualifications

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
• Previous experience in an activity’s role preferred
