Job summary

Bedford Wellness and Rehabilitation is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant to support our residents with engaging programs in a newly renovated Transitional Care Unit. This PRN position offers the chance to contribute to a five-star care environment and to be part of a team that values compassion and smiles.

You will work under the supervision of the Activity Director, helping plan, implement, and assess activities, and you may coordinate volunteers and special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of long-term care experience.
• One year of social/recreational program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and delivery of activity programs to promote resident engagement.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities.
• Complete activity documentation as required.
• Submit supplies lists and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain a precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assist in organizing and supervising volunteer program, including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assist with Resident Council Meetings as needed.
• Assist in planning community activities and posting monthly calendars.
