Job summary

Doverwood is seeking an ACTIVITY ASSISTANT to deliver activities for residents at our skilled nursing facility. The role focuses on enhancing psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing for residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include group and 1:1 activities, calendar planning, outings, meals assistance, events support, and ensuring accurate activity participation documentation. Equal opportunity employer with a smoke-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to become a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA).
• Willing to learn and communicates well with others.
• Desire to work with elderly and to assist residents, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and 1:1 activities to support residents' wellbeing.
• Assist with activity calendar planning to meet resident needs.
• Conduct scheduled groups and outings, including operating bus equipment as needed.
• Attend team meetings and assist with resident meals.
• Support theme weeks and special events.
• Document activity participation for all groups and activities.
• Assist with customer service surveys.

Facility is currently looking for a Full Time ACTIVITY ASSISTANT . Come join our as an Activity Assistant at our state of the art, skilled nursing facility. The position provides activities to the facility residents with the goal to promote the psychosocial, spiritual and emotional well-being of residents, families and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with other members of the Activity Department to provide individual, group and 1:1 activities, which are essential to the total wellbeing of our Residents.
• Provides insight with the activity calendar and provides activities to meet the needs of the residents
• Conducts all scheduled groups and individual activities.
• Attends outings – operates bus lift and all other bus equipment.
• Attends Team Member meetings as needed
• Assists with Resident meals (serve/feed).
• Assists with Theme Weeks and special events.
• Documents activity participation attendance for all groups and individual activities
• Assist with Customer Service Surveys.
• All other duties specified by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be (or must be eligible to become) State Tested Nurse Aide to allow more active participation with activity delivery
• Willing to learn and communicates well with others
• Has a sincere desire to work with elderly and enjoys working directly with residents, staff and families.
